Celebrate Juneteenth with the City of Bowie on June 14
Get ready, Bowie! The City is turning up the energy for the fourth annual Juneteenth Jubilee Festival – a
vibrant celebration of freedom, culture, and community. It happens on June 14. Bring the whole family out to
Allen Pond Park for a day packed with live music, food, fun, and festivities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved Africans in Galveston, Texas
were informed of their freedom - more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s a powerful
reminder of resilience, liberation, and the enduring spirit of people.
